When we install these in-house, we add one locking strut and remove the locking sleeve on the other to make lowering the top a one-man job. If you routinely carry a heavy load on the pop-top, you can use locking struts on both sides, but it does make lowering the pop-top trickier with only two hands.

Operation note: Typically, you'll need to push the top up pretty hard in order to utilize the locking feature on the strut. The bottom of the red plastic collar must clear the end of the strut cylinder, and then you slide it over to one side into the locked position, see the video tab for a visual description of this. If you cannot get the lock to engage, you will need to remove the lock tube from the strut, pop the lock button off (it is glued in place), and cut the lock tube down the appropriate amount.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0961/1440/9843/files/full_574c4a11e22aa4a16b1d088940d983fd.jpg?v=1778247016
